How is SmartSolar different from Local Power?
SmartSolar is Local Power's cost-saving range for homes. It uses the BYD Battery-Box HVE instead of our premium battery option, which keeps the price down while keeping the same Solarwatt glass-glass panels and the same accredited installation team.
Can I get the SEAI solar grant?
Most homeowners can. Our installations meet the SEAI grant requirements, and we complete the updated BER and paperwork as part of the job.
What size battery do I need?
It depends on how much electricity you use in the evening. The BYD Battery-Box HVE comes in 6.4, 10.7 and 15.0 kWh sizes, and we'll recommend one after looking at your bills.
Will the battery work during a power cut?
Blackout backup is available as an option. It needs some additional wiring, which we'll price at survey stage.
Can I add an EV charger?
Yes. We can install a compatible EV charger alongside your system so you can charge your car with your own solar power.
